Modified Thirring model beyond the excluded-volume approximation

چکیده

Long-range interacting systems may exhibit ensemble inequivalence and can possibly attain equilibrium states under completely open conditions, for which energy, volume number of particles simultaneously fluctuate. Here we consider a modified version the Thirring model self-gravitating with attractive repulsive long-range interactions in are treated as hard spheres dimension d=1,2,3. Equilibrium studied unconstrained ensemble, by means both Monte Carlo simulations analytical methods compared corresponding at fixed particles, isothermal-isobaric ensemble. Our theoretical description is performed an arbitrary local equation state, allows us to examine system beyond excluded-volume approximation. The confirm prediction possible occurrence first-order phase transitions This work contributes understanding exchanging heat, matter environment.

Beyond the excluded volume effects: mechanistic complexity of the crowded milieu.

Macromolecular crowding is known to affect protein folding, binding of small molecules, interaction with nucleic acids, enzymatic activity, protein-protein interactions, and protein aggregation. Although for a long time it was believed that the major mechanism of the action of crowded environments on structure, folding, thermodynamics, and function of a protein can be described in terms of the ...

The Gauged Thirring Model

We propose the gauged Thirring model as a natural gauge-invariant generalization of the Thirring model, four-fermion interaction of current-current type. In the strong gauge-coupling limit, the gauged Thirring model reduces to the recently proposed reformulation of the Thirring model as a gauge theory. Especially, we pay attention to the effect coming from the kinetic term for the gauge boson f...

Finite volume approximation of the Anderson model

In the Anderson model on Zd, we consider a sequence of its finite volume approximation Hk k and construct a set of sequences composed of the eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of Hk in the localized region I which converge to those of H simultaneously. For its proof, Minami’s estimate turns out to be important. This result implies that, in the localized region, each eigenfunction behaves almost ind...

Overcharging : The crucial role of excluded volume

– In this Letter we investigate the mechanism for overcharging of a single spherical colloid in the presence of aqueous salts within the framework of the primitive model by molecular dynamics (MD) simulations as well as integral-equation theory. We find that the occurrence and strength of overcharging strongly depends on the salt-ion size, and the available volume in the fluid. To understand th...

A Polynomial Excluded-Minor Approximation of Treedepth

Treedepth is a well-studied graph invariant in the family of “width measures” that includes treewidth and pathwidth. Understanding these invariants in terms of excluded minors has been an active area of research. The recent Grid Minor Theorem of Chekuri and Chuzhoy [12] establishes that treewidth is polynomially approximated by the largest k×k grid minor. In this paper, we give a similar polyno...
